“Strength in the Strand” reimagines Black hair as both armor and art. It begins in confinement. A reflection of how Black beauty has often been boxed, questioned, restrained. This photo series is about the beauty that emerges when we reclaim what the world once tried to contain. As each frame unfolds, the fences fall away. What remains is power. Power that is unfiltered, undeniable, and free. Our hair has always been more than style. It is strength, story, and self.”
